Berger 185 HVLD

My current load out of a .308 Win is pushing the 185 at 2810fps. At 1k it gives me 1560fps with 1000 in the energy department. At what speed can we still expect reliable expansion with the said load? And how far would most of you feel comfortable using this round on muleys and smaller game?

if I remember, Berger says to have 1800Fps to ensure expansion

what are the specs on load and gun? that's a wicked fast load for a .308 and 185s

The rifle was built on a Howa action that went through a full blueprint it was then pillared and glassed in a Manners stock. For the barrel on this project we went with a 28" Brux with a 1-10 twist. Rifle Basic trigger at 12oz and a leupold Mark4 sitting on top. As for the load we are using 50gr of RL-17 in Win cases that have been fully prepped. I have reloaded the same case 11 times now and the primer pocket is still tight.
