Benchmark muzzle brake

http://www.benchmark-barrels.com claims to have a muzzle brake that reduces recoil by at least 60% and is no louder than without it. Any one have one of their brakes and can vouch for their claim???
How would you compare their barrels with well know brands like Krieger, Brux, Shilen, Hart, Bartlen???

Benchmark was allowed by me/Center Shot Rifles to do a spin off of my Muscle brake, with a clamp screw on it so it could be easily user installed and timed by the gun owner who already had a threaded barrel. It is a very effective design and will reduce recoil up to 60%. A Blanket statement on recoil reduction can not be given as a brakes effectiveness varies by cartridge, powder volume, bore size and bullet weight. As far as increased noise, the brake was designed to reduce the concussion effect to the shooter, by elliminating the back-blast. It does this very well and in doing so is not as load as most other brakes. i did some dedcibil testing and on average it increased the noise by less than 4 DB on the 2 rifles I tested. With that said recomend you wear hearing protection when-ever you shoot any rifle.

Benchmark makes a button rifled barrel, I have used them and so have some of the guys I shoot with. I can only say my most accurate f-class rifle I ever owned had a bench-mark on it and that was out of a half dozen rifles which I built myself. I will be using them on my PRS match rifles soon as I retire the tubes I currently shoot. I consider them the best button barrel on the market.

Don't know about the brakes. I am in love with the JP brakes for what I do with 6's, 7mm's and 300's.

But we just finished my first build with a Benchmark barrel. 6.5 x 284 with a 8 twist. It broke in very quickly, cleans in a few patches with BoreTech Eliminator and the first 3 shot group went .399" at 100. A little fine tuning and the rifle shot 3 into 1 hole for a C/C group of .082".

The barrel shoots so well I have almost forgotten how badly they missed their completion date and the trouble that has caused.

absolutely, I have built a number of rifles on them, some for myself, and others for customers that I have shot. Have not had a bad one and have had a bunch that have done 10 shot groups at 100 yards right at 1/2 moa even in #5 contours.

My 6xc f-class rifle has shot 10 shots under .225" at 100 yards using the same load I shoot in my tac rifles. It makes keeping ammo on hand easier when different rifles feed the same ammo.

Glad to read all of this. My 375 benchmark just came in yesterday. I cant wait for it to be installed so I can get to shooting it
