I'm 68 years old and I've been shooting since about eight years old. I started reloading at age 17 for a 222 Remington. Later on it was at 243 then a 308. I live in Nevada and hunt, Mule deer, antelope, and elk whenever I can get a tag. I normally say my rifle in for 100 yards and have never really practiced at anything over 300 yards so the idea of long range, I never took time to go to the longer ranges and practice. I have several rifles that would have no difficulty reaching out to 1000 yards accurately so this year I decided to try the local 600 yard range. I took my 6.5 PRC out to the range. It's a Weatherby vanguard with a Vortex 4 to 18 power scope. I tried my luck at 400 yards shooting at a 10 inch gong and was pleasantly surprised when I hit it on the first try. So I moved my gong out to 600 yards and again I was able to hit it on my first try and of course that is after adjusting my rifle scope for the trajectory. I'm going to have to go out and practice a lot more just so I can feel comfortable shooting at those ranges and maybe I'll try something longer. Once I get confident in this short ranges turning to this webpage is definitely helped me with some reloading and shooting knowledge, thanks everybody.
