Bedding question-Mannners

Is this stock properly bedded? Shouldn't there be bedding compound throughout this inlet? Maybe back tang also? Manners MCS-CS.
Or is this common for this "style" mini chassis stock? Custom build that was not cheap $:

With the aluminum insert for the action it's not necessary. Many high end production guns are like yours.
The important part is how does it shoot?

I buy chassis stocks so I don't have to bed them.

The aluminum inserts is the bedding that you are thinking of.

There is a difference in "bedding blocks" or "Chassis/mini chassis/micro chassis" and aluminum pillars and actual bedding.

Most stocks with aluminum bedding blocks/chassis/mini chassis/micro chassis do not "need" to be bedded. But it can still help at times. Depends on how good the chassis fit the action in question.

Shoot it and see.

There are lots of ways to bed a rifle. Looks like he bedded the recoil lug and left a little under the barrel. How does it shoot?

No! A "reputable" GS knows which areas require bedding as necessary. As others noted, shoot it go from there. Good luck!

No to what?? No it's not normal, or no they dont bed?
This gun use to shoot terrible, was sent back 2x, 1st he said action screws were loose (wouldn't ya think he would have addressed bedding at that time?) 2nd time bbl was replaced.

This! You posted a generalized bedding question. All of my full custom rifle builds does NOT have bedding throughout. My go-to GS since 2003, only bed where required. On my DIY semi-custom builds with aftermarket stocks (non of which are top tier), I bedded them myself. However, one chassis did not need any bedding, and thus far they all shoot well.

That stock is not bedded, though it does have some compound at the recoil lug recess.
Chassis, mini-chassis, etc. are meant for the owner to be able to install a barreled action and shoot.
They work fine for many. But, if you paid for a custom build, that is not what you got IMO.

That was not bedded. There should be bedding up the side of the inlet, lug area should be filled around the lug, and the mini chassis should reflect the shape of your receiver. You can see the white color of the stock and the square chassis.

Did you pay to have it bedded? What was written up in the work order, full action bed?

Check your invoice if you charged for bedding. If so, and your GS did not bed it, then get a refund, and have it fixed by a reputable GS. Good luck!
