Has anyone compared the two? Not so much on features and what you get for the money but glass quality clarity sharpness color light transmission. And how do they stack up against an ATACR? I have spent quite a while looking through an ATACR and I'm really impressed much better than the NXS similar to my Swarovski glass

I have a BEAST. I can't comment on the Vortec. However I have had the opportunity to look at ATACRs on other guys rifles, on a range at distances out to 1000 yards, the optics on the BEAST are far better. Same guys that own ATACRs looked thru my BEAST and they agreed.

BEAST must be really good because I was very impressed with the ATACR. The Sport Optics store is located not far from me. He has every type of optics gear imaginable in stock. I will do a side by side test of the two.

I didn't realize the Beast and the ATACR had different glass. I have an ATACR and I'm really impressed with it.

I think a a lot of people don't realize the BEAST has better glass. At least for me I was under the impression it was just an ATACR with more bells and whistles. I think night force should have emphasized more on optics quality with the BEAST and there probably would be more of them sold.

I'm pretty sure somewhere on snipers hide a NF rep stated that the ATACR glass was the same as the Beast. He very well could've meant the F1 version of the ATACR. I can't find the claim from him directly, thus I have no proof.

Never owned a NF Beast, but have the NF F-1 ATACR. Both are very good, but I like my Vortex Gen ll's a bit better! The EBR2C reticle is hard to beat!

I would have to agree on the reticle. I for one, decided against the F1 ATACR because of the odd/weird MILR reticle. I am sure NF is losing sales because of the lack of reticle choices. Sure, one could get used to it and learn to appreciate it, but why?

I love the EBR2C, which on this level of optic choices, plays a huge role in the decision process. Hope you're reading this NF

Yep. I think I'm starting to lean toward the Vortex. After reading this article and what you guys have said it sounds like a "BEAST"!!

Hard to go wrong with either. I've used the Vortex 4.5-27 on a 338 Lapua and it was a very nice scope. I opted for the ATACR, because there were a few things that I personally liked better about it. That being said, I opted for the Vortex GII in 1-6x24 over the NF 1-4 for my timber gun because there were a few things I liked better about it. If you have the option to look at the scopes in person it would really benefit you. If that's not an option I'd compare the reticle choices in the scopes and choose the one you like best.
