The gunsmiths family bought the house in 1920 , for 350.00I had a 49 Dodge pickup and if I remember correctly portions of the bed was bolted together with square nuts. So I would think this barrel vice would be a product of the fifties. My 2 cents.

Exactlywhat happened , the barn and house are from sometime around the late 1800 s.He probably put it together with what he had on hand utilizing parts from different eras.
