Switch, I agree. Using a barrel block wont hurt your rifle shooting potential. I just don't think it's worth the extra money if your using a quality large diameter action. Anyhow, it's been a good debate. Furthermore, I've changed from a Nesika 1.470 Diameter Action to a Nesika 1.700 Diameter action. This action will really hold that 1.450 Straight taper barrel with ease. Also, the stock will be bedded farther out to help the barrel.
