I too have been an NRA member for many years, and have taught several of their classes. I'm an associate pastor, and have dealt with teens and young adults on this subject and similar subjects for several years. We must not restrict a person's free ability to defend themselves AT HOME, but we must try to ensure the safety of the innocent in our world just the same. Rifle Magazines limited to 10 rounds and shooter restrictions under age 21 for automatic centerfire weapons would help restrict some of these insane murderous occurances we are now seeing all over the USA. But dealing and reacting to the Effect does nothing to eliminate the Cause of this disaster, which is our moral decay, evidenced by removing Prayer and GOD from our schools, government, and public life. Forcing gay rights upon us, tearing down historic monuments, and re-structuring our country into a socialist society that can be easily controlled and manipulated by a few politicians is insane! We need to re-establish our ethical, moral, and religious foundation before any of these satanic disasters can be corrected. It's up to us patriots to correct this!

CPS is not the answer, they are over worked and understaffed. The theory is good, but the reality is parents continually abandon, abuse physically and mentally, malnourish and pimp out their children and very little gets done from my experiences.

CPS is not the answer today as it is woefully underfunded and run with a seemingly progressive agenda.

You do realize it takes only a couple seconds to change a mag right? So a 10 round limit doesn't stop the shooter at all. Additionally there are hundreds of millions of 10+ round magazines already available so a ban on them only affect law abiding citizens who use a firearm for self defense.

Second they aren't automatic which are already regulated by the NFA and raising the age will not stop this. You said it yourself that moral decay is the cause so limiting the rights of law abiding citizens will do nothing to stop it. After all drugs are illegal and they killed over 100,000 people last year alone.

I agree with most of what you say but automatic centerfire weapons have been used for none of these events, a 10 round mag would have saved zero lives in Uvalde, amd if you look back over the mass shootings in the last several years it is doubtful the 21 year age restriction would have done anything.

Sandy Hook 2012 killer was over 20 yrs old took rifle from mother. How would 21 year old age limit have stopped this? Do you believe a psychopath stops being a psychopath at age 21?

Columbine 1999 both killers acquired their weapons before age 18 illegally. How would a 21 year old age limit stop this?

El Paso 2019- killer 21 years old. Killed 23 wounded 23

Sutherland Springs school shooting 2017- killer 26 years old. How would a 21 year old age limit stop this?

2017 Las Vegas 64 year old killed 60 wounded 421.

2016 Orlando killed 49 wounded 53 29 years old.

Let me just start by saying that I am a Benefactor member of the NRA and have been for many years, decades actually.

With that being said, I don't think our conservative elected officials can continue to block every single new proposed gun law in the face of the significant number of civilian deaths due to gun violence. The recent mass shootings have gotten all the headlines lately, but street thugs are killing people at an unprecedented rate.

Citizens (voters) are charged up right now and want SOMETHING done. Any official who refuses to do ANYTHING to help alleviate the number of tragic gun deaths in the country probably won't hold office too long. Should the political numbers tilt any farther left, the shooting sports will be decimated by the liberals.

I don't know the answer to the gun violence problem in this country but it's in all of our interest to get a handle on this before things get any worse.

Please share any thoughts you have on a course or courses of action to help acquire this handle thank you

I'd argue that the recent spike in gun violence is due to the jails releasing many of the prisoners due to covid. And due to not enforcing or prosecuting suspects due to this woke mentality. Besides if we aren't going to enforce the laws we have how is creating new laws going to help. My answer is it won't, we just won't have firearms. Or at least the ones we want or currently have.

Varmint Hunter - good statements, on track - indicates support of 2nd A and gets into current attacks on 2nd A.

My view is that VH is correct in that legislation protecting gun rights cannot continue to be successful - at least under the current political leadership and public attitudes. This is all about molding & then reacting to the vast public attitude towards firearms. Many D.C. politicians know exactly what their objective is - mold public opinion, divert attention from current policy disasters, acquire votes & support, denigrate opposition, and increase control. Public ingnorance & fear assist these politicians.

VH, a benefactor NRA member, provided a simple alert to the current situation. VH statements do not oppose NRA policies. Any confusion of intent can be resolved by reading the statement again or asking for assistance.

Gun violence, in part, is increased by acclaim by a certain evil element of society. Perps, freqently attired in miltary regalia, if not killed on site, need quiet trials, follwed conviction then lethal injection (needle).

You are getting close to what needs to be said. No one has talked about the reason the shootings take place at a time that feeds the gun grabbers more fodder for

their hysteria. That this creates a perfect storm for more undesired and unneeded gun laws! But I'm ranting and I shouldn't.

A friend of mine once said and I quote " a child needs to be a little afraid of their parents in order for them to behave them selves" Good gosh this will never do in today's in view of today's society. Well you might hurt little Johnny's feelings!

I purchased a new Radial 7.62x39 semi auto yesterday. Brought it home and my 19 year old shot it. I asked if he wanted one, he has a job and makes his own money. I went today and bought one I will gift to him eventually. We both like to kill hogs and do often. This is primarily what these rifles will be used for. There are numerous other semi automatic rifles in our home. Not one has ever been used to harm a human. He has trained with them since he could hold them. The main reason I did this other than they were on sale, is I'm not sure what's going to happen. Many of you are correct in assuming, something will change.

I work In public schools. I see daily the evidence of the lack of God in our country. Sin and evil is real.
10-12 year olds often under the influence and using tobacco, alcohol, THC, and many other drugs. I bet you would be surprised to know how much illegal VIAGRA is being dealt in MIDDLE AND JUNIOR HIGH schools. I personally believe vaping is an epidemic in America and all kind of illegals can be used in them. The internet, pornography, video games, TV, music, and the demise of structured families is destroying our country starting with our youth which are our future.

I support mine and your RIGHT to own our hard earned firearms. I want my son to be able to pass to his child one day. Division in our county isnt going away anytime soon.

Imagine what we could be if everyone followed biblical principals or at least some sort of moral code.
