Anyone used Blackhorn Cleaning Solvent?

I'm an easy target for new things that involve shooting. I saw this and thought I would give it a shot. I probably have plenty of cleaning solvents that would work just as well, but the fancy bottle just sucked me in. Maybe someone can make me feel better about this purchase…..

Thanks for the feedback. If I can get a good weather window to shoot the ML, I'll give it a try.

I bought/use it too. However, I'm not convinced that it cleans any better or faster than a bottle of Hoppes at a fraction of the cost.

I use windex during the season, and hoppes when it's time to put it away.

I swab between shots.

After sight in, I clean with windex. And make sure it's completely dry before loading for hunting.

Don't want hoppes in the bbl during the season.

I'm also a believer in Wipe-Out and use it on my centerfires. I did a test this year on my muzzleloader to see how well the Blackhorn cleaner does. I let my muzzleloaders bore soak for 24 hours with Wipe-Out in it. The next day the patch came out clean.

Nope. Smells more like Windex. I would take a bottle of windex to the range with my old ML shooting 777. It worked great and was cheap.

777 is water soluble-- bh209 is not, it takes a petroleum based solvent to clean it

Best I've used. Does the job well, especially the breechplug face, and goes a long way
