Has anyone ever used shilens "ratchet" grooved rifling? I am considering their drop in select match grade barrel in 338 Lapua 1:9 twist with the 4 groove ratchet rifling for my savage 338 Lapua. What are the benefits of the ratchet style rifling vs normal rifling? I will have to go 1:10 twist if i go with the normal stlye but i want to go 1:9 twist because ill bet you right when i get the new barrel installed an ultra high BC bullet will come out that needs a 1:9 twist to stabalize . If you have used there ratchet rifling chime in and let me know what you think of them.

I've been thinkin' about one of those too.

However I'm a bit apprehensive regarding the ratchet thing.

I'm afraid that I'd get a bit absent minded and flip the little lever the wrong way and my spin drift compensation would be exactly wrong!
