I know most of you are shooting bigger pills, the 190 works for my current purpose.

Anyone have any loads for a 10 twist barrel?

Thanks in advance!

No need to link to published info, I've already checked all of the manuals

Although my 24" barrel is a 1 in 11.25 twist, this load shoots great out to 1300 yards (farthest I have shot it).
Multiple groups in the .2's at 100 yards.

RWS brass body sized with Redding Body Die and neck sized with Lee Collet Neck Sizing Die.
H1000 78.9 grains
190 gr HVLD
.020" off lands base to ogive
CCI BR-2 large rifle primer

As always, start load for anyone should be reduced.

Whats your velocity?

I have some 190s i want to try. I'm running 180s at 3060 out of a 24" with 80 gr of h1000 and 215m primers at 750 ft elevation.

I started with H1000 but I was getting better accuracy and velocity using H4831SC out of my 24" 1:11"

75 H4831SC
2.886" (.015 off the lands)
CCI250
WW brass
3043 FPS (range is at ~3K; hunting between 5-7.5K')

Harvested a bull elk at 931 yards in 2013.

Good luck!

Jaxdialation,
We show a starting load of 75.0 grains of H1000 with a MAXIMUM of 79.2 grains. Approximate velocities are 2797 to 2971 fps. Approximate fill ratio is 102% . Test barrel was 26 inch. Your 1-10" twist barrel should work very well with the 190 VLD. Please go to our website and read Eric's article , "VLDs , Making them shoot" for seating depth testing instructions and information. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us here or at [email protected].

Thanks guys.

I keep reading loads around 79gr are good. I think I have a node up there too, based upon break-in and pressure testing loads I've tried.

The barrel should be settled in by now. Time to dial it in :)
