Vista Outdoor, the parent company to several ammunition makers such as Federal, CCI, and Remington, has warned prices for ammunition are expected to rise in 2024 due to a worldwide shortage of gunpowder.

Just bought 1 kg of Vihtavuori gunpowder and 400 pcs of RWS large rifle primers in Scandinavia. The powder (converted to USD for clarity) was 142 USD and the primers 26 USD per 100 pcs.

Since 2020 the powder price has increased 30% and the primer price is 300-400% higher.

Well, I guess it's a good thing in the long run that also the West has ammo in stock, not just North Korea and Russia... I guess the root cause here is that the western armies are buying ammo like crazy.
