I've mentioned Oregon has been planning on banning hunting, fishing, and trapping on this forum before and this issue is high on the list of reasons why folks on the east side (and some on the west) want to skedaddle. This helps explain why Oregon's population has lost a net 30,000 residents since 2021 as well and I suspect a lot of them up and moved to Idaho.
Unfortunately, the state constitution gives control of redrawing state lines to congress and the "D's" have a 5/8th super majority in the house and senate.
So with the current situation in state congress the greater Idaho plan is going no where and in fact the Governor has refused to open discussions for 572 days.
It's not all bad news though, the state was sued by Judicial Watch and lost after they found 800,000 illegitimate registered voters on the rolls which the state is now required to remove. That is 25.8% of the total registered voters in this state which also claims 93.5%

of all voter eligible residents are registered to vote. The state also lays claim to having the highest voter turnout in presidential election years averaging 80.8% while the US as a whole averages 56.2%. If you add the 25.8% illegitimate registered voters to the national average of 56.2% turnout you get 82% almost the exact turnout claimed by the state. Hmm makes me think this state may have a ghost voter problem.
While it is true similar measures have failed to get enough signatures to get on the ballot this one currently is only ~29K short with many months left for gathering. If this measure somehow does get on the ballot, passes, and is signed into law you can add my name to the list of ex-Oregonians.
