This is why we should always check after equipment before sending bullets downrange.

If you'll notice the mark in front of the ring, you can see that the scope slid completely forward until the ring hit the variable power knob. Those are Max-50 rings from Badger Ordnance, but it doesn't really matter what kind they are if they aren't tight. I had just fired an 8 inch 3 shot group at 900yds. Not exactly benchrest standards, but it was virgin brass, and prone off a bipod. So I was pretty happy until I started shooting all over the place.
Oh well, at least I wasnt shooting at a trophy critter. Now I gotta go back and relevel and re sight-in. I was thinking of buying one of those new levels from Flatline Ops. Guess now would be as good of a time as any.
