first & foremost I'd like to thank my son for putting up with me & doing some incredible flying manoeuvres with the drone ( although he crashed one expensive lesson lol ) & was even for better words in some cases round them up
Next part it's definitely not sporting so please don't judge on that without understanding what is going on in Tassie with our deer as they are way out of control & spreading .
This is from outdated practices for the sustainability of a good herd
We have now 3 zones ( i cull in all 3 zones & hunt only in zone 1 ) & depending on zone you need tags & permits to extremely lax as the government & a lot of landowners just want them dead & it's basically open slather to try & reduce numbers or even eradicate from certain areas
I've got all permits in place & also have a special permit that allows me to take any deer all year round plus multiple other species & the use of the drone comes under this so this is all legal here & if anyone wants to do something similar I'd suggest checking your laws first
Now I'll keep numbers out but IT's hundreds that will be taken by the end of this year with the help of some mates I've allocated tags from my permits ( yes I can do that ) too them as my body can't keep up let alone enough hours in the day & yes a lot of these are put in a pit especially this season due to extremely poor climatic conditions & basically no feed for livestock plus the damage to the environment then add our wallaby , swans , ducks etc issues to this
yes don't get me started we have major issues
We also have a lot of the deer being extremely poor condition & once that's understood you'll understand why we are culling so many critters & putting them in a pit
So please don't judge
I tried to get a normal video to show another angle on the impact of the pill but we just couldn't get those lined up to work together so it was just phone calls between my son& myself ( sometimes he was miles away from me as I'd walked ahead to get a vantage point or find them before drone put up ) & trying to get it on drone video that proved extremely hard to get it to mesh together & one I just don't /didn't have the time to gather more sorry
So we ended up with what we got , we used other bullets but never come together for drone videos but I got data & pictures & videos so more to go with what I've already done over the years & looking forward to tomorrows pills as some very good stuff being done & fingers crossed they can replicate it across various lines
The drone videos I can't add as I'm not smart enough to do that stuff so I've asked Bean to put them on YouTube so just give him a bit of time to put them together as I've just sent them through & hopefully in order
But some pretty cool stuff imo on how different bullets work & gives a little further insight into the fascinating world of terminals & my favourite is the thermal one as that is just plain awesome imo of course
So stay tuned & I'll add pictures of vitals as we go that matches up with the videos & added the couple from the first ones i did to give a bit better pool of videos
