My gunsmith sent me a few pics today. I will be picking my 7SAUM up next Wednesday. My plan when I started thinking about this build was to have a complete setup around 10-11lbs and I really didn't want a carbon barrel. My smith said the build with scope weighed in at 10.5lbs.
Build specs
Kauger arms VPR left hand right port long action.
Brux 1-8.5 twist fluted Remington varmint contour finished at 24inches.
MBM 3 port titanium brake
Bix n Andy Tacsport
Grayboe Phoenix
Zeiss v4 6-24x50 for now, will probably swap it out for a NX8 next spring. I have 500 Berger 180 vlds and plan on trying H4831sc,N560 and N565. Hoping it'll hammer!!!

I'm looking to build something skin and wondered why you decided against a carbon barrel. Just curious
Not interested in Carbon. Only thing it does better than steel is shave off some weight and add 300-400 dollars. They have also have a tendency to start walking when warmed up. If I wanted a true light carry hunting rifle I would possibly look into carbon. A carbon barrel the same size as my steel barrel might be 1lbs lighter.

So after a few range days with the 7saum I found a few good loads. I settled on 64.2 grains of N565. Velocity is 2863fps with a SD of 8fps. I went out to do a final sight in and decided to try h1000 just for fun H1000 gave me right around 2885fps with a SD of 9 on 5 shots. This rifle is gonna be a hammer. A few pictures of some 5 shot groups at 100. After I got done sighting it at 100 I ran it out to 500 on a some steel. First 3 shots were around 1.75 inches and the fourth shot opened the group up to 2.5inches or so.
