7mm Rem Mag load data help

I have loaded thousands of rounds of 7 mag. One thing about the 7 mag is there is several different versions from different manufacturers. Long barrel, short barrel, 9 twist, 9 1/4 twist, 9 1/2 twist, freebored, tight bore and all of this you need to take into consideration. I really like the 4831 powder for a hunting/ accuracy load in freebored rifles like the Savages. Slower powders like Retumbo for the heavier bullets and non freeboard rifles. 7828 is also really hard to beat, It was years ago when this powder was specifically designed for the 7mm mag. H1000 is a good universal powder for the 7mm but it can be beat by a large margin. 4350 is the most accurate powder if you have the barrel to squeeze the accuracy out of it but you will give some velocity up for accuracy. If you do not get the results your looking for switch and try the 150 barnes. It shoots like gang busters in freeboard 7mm mags with a very stout load of h4831 and Win MAG primers. Let us know how it goes!:)

Thank you for the info. I was hoping to come up a load for my 7mm with H1000. I have stocked up a large stockpile of H1000 for my 338 Rum. My 7mm is a Voere made in Austria that my grandfather passed down to me 25 yrs ago. A couple years ago i had it re-barreled with a Douglas barrel. Im not sure if a Douglas barrel is free-boar or tight. If H1000 will not work i have a couple pounds of Reloader 22. Thank you

I use adi 2217 which is the same as h1000
I use the 162 amax and 72.5 grains. I can run it hotter, but this seems like a fairly mild load at 3100, it seems popular with other 7mm mags too using the 162. and it shoots well somi will stick with it.
you should work up to that its over book max.

I load 68.5 grains of H1000, cci250 primers hornady case and 168vld's @ 2956fps and can consistantly shoot 1/2 or better moa at 1000. reloader22 will also shoot well, just not as temp stable.

Put some good ole' H-4350 in them cases....a lot cleaner, velocity is almost the same and accuracy should be outstanding.. H-4350..should be renamed "all you ever need for anything"..

There are no bullets for 7mmRemMag that H1000 is the best powder.

There are some it will work with, but it will be heavy bullets and even compressed it will be wimpy.

This is what Sierra shows for the 160gr bullets and H1000 starting point: 64.9gr

Here is where you start hitting max: 69.9gr

Just work your way up

Hope this helps and stay safe

CORRECTION, wrong bullet weight, here you go for the 160gr.

Starting at 66.4gr

Huh? H1000 is my favorite 7RM powder.
Accurate, clean, cool, stable. I run 180 Hyb with a fairly mild load @ 2996fps. Can get them up to 3050 easily in a 26" 1:8.5" Bartlein.
I load for a buddy's 7RM pushing 160 NABs over H1000 at 3140fps.
Could go faster, but when accuracy and stability rule, tough to beat H1000.
