7mm 162eldX 1mile bullet recovery

The boar was trotting at 300yds and I got greedy and tried to line him up with a sow and get a 2fer. The result was a hit on the boar in the last rib angling through the guts. Bullet didn't exit and was poking out the hide near the hip. I've shot 5deer and 3 pigs with the 162eldX and all exited except this one.

Tikka T3 7rem mag 26" w/ suppressor
162eldX seated .040
71gr H1000 (no pressure signs in my rifle)
CCI mag primer
3050fps MV calculated from field data

I got lucky today and found 2 pounds of H1000. I looked at the Hornady 10 book, their max is 68.5 gr. They used WLRM primers. I'll try CCI250 and work up. I'd be happy with 3k and good brass life.

OGB 2.731

My Chrono speed is 2950fps but my calculated speed is 3050fps. All my data Matches out to 1 mile so the 3050calculated is what matters to me. I've shot 200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900, 1250 and 1760 and it matches pretty good at 3050fps

I've been very happy with H1000
Good luck, let me know what you find out

Newest iteration of the 7 Rem Mag experiment. I present to you...

162 ELD-X and H1000!

Max mag length, WLRM on the left, CCI 250 on the right, charge weights increasing by .5 grain back to front. Once fired RP brass, neck sized only. Maybe Sunday.

I'm looking for accuracy, 3k, and no pressure, in that order.

Cool, I like pics of recovered bullets.

This year between my friends and family, we have killed 2 deer with the 7mm 162 eldx, one at 340 the other at 280, and a deer and an elk with the 200 30 cal eldx, deer at 520 elk at 610. All performed great, killed the animals quickly and all passed through with 50 cent to pop can sized exits accept the elk that was quartering away, and the bullet was recovered under the off shoulder, perfect hit. It made a beautiful mushroom. I personally like these bullets, and can't wait to test out my 147 eldm out of my .260 Ackley. I have used the a-max, and I have a feeling this eld-m will perform similarly.

It will not perform similar, it will out perform with flying colors

I'm extremely interested in trying these with my 280 ackley imp if the 150gn ABLR don't work out for me. My target muzzle velocity for the ELDX is 3000 out of a 26 inch barrel. Its 3100 for the 150gn ABLR although I would be fine with 2900 and 3000 respectively if thats where I find accuracy.

I have several powders to try. R17, H4831sc, IMR 7828 and R26. So far rhat's what I have available to me. Out of those 4 my money is on the 7828 or the R26 to get me those speeds, not sure on the accuracy yet. My custom builder still has my rifle...

This is encouraging for me to want switch to the 212 for my 300AX, I should have no problem getting it up to 3200FPS.

I am going to try these out of my 300wm as soon as I can(2-3 weeks)

You should a much higher BC with the 212eld than with the 200accubond and you wont compromise any speed out of your 300ax!

You should also look at the ELD-M 225gr it has a G1 of .777, I am going to test those to for accuracy and terminal preformance. I bet they will flatten an Aoudad!!

I ran some H1000 loads over a Magnetospeed, 69.5 gr got 2957, I'll be happy with that.

Question on your OGB of 2.731, did you modify the magazine? The longest I can get with consistently reliable feeding is 2.675".
