7mm 120 grain Partition/Accubond

Probably because the cheap 120NBT they have always offered is as tough as either of those offerings would be at half the price...

I don't know. It would be hard for me to believe that the NBT would be as tough as a Partition/Accubond in the same weight. A 120 grain Partition/Accubond in a 7-08 would be awesome on whitetails. Heck, I might it load it in my 7 SAUM. Lol

Well then I suggest you actually try them. I've yet to keep one inside a bunch of muleys, flagtails, antelope, black bears and two cow elk when flung from a 26" 7RM @ 3500fps

FYI they were redesigned my Nosler after silhouette shooters complained of their original softness...they ain't your normal ballistic tip and that's not a "guess"

I would love to try 120 grain Partitions or Accubonds, if they made them.

I am interested in trying the 120 grain NBT, though.

If you ever get the chance to talk to Steve Timm, ask him what he hasn't killed with his 280 Ackley and the 120 NBT. He posts under the name dogzapper over on 24hourcampfire.com, and has written many times about how tough the little 120 is.

There's nothing the 140 can't do that the something in 120 will do, might be a hair flatter showing for awhile but that would be overcome by the 140 quickly...I 'be shot a railroad car full of deer with 140 partition out of a 7 mm mag at 3100 fps, none ever survived to take a couple of steps if that...best hunting bullet ever made !

Here is JBM. I "sighted" them in so the bullet never went above 3". I sighted the 120 in for 290 yards and the 140 in at 260 yards. I don't have a 7 Mag, but if I did I would go with the 120.

Nosler said that a 120 grain Partition would be tougher than a 120 grain BT, which should be no shocker to anyone. They also recommended keeping the 120 grain BT under 3000 fps and only recommended behind the shoulder shots.

I guess I'll stick with my 160 grain Accubonds/Partitions. Heck, they only cost $19. :)

Musta been a new tech, last bear I killed with the 7 was shot at roughly 8yds through both shoulders. It acts a little tougher than most Accubonds I've seen used on game. I'm about 50/50 in keeping NABs in game...usually 180/30cal and 140/284cal. Not trying to discount NPTs or NABs, just saying the is bonded bullet performance at cup n core price
