Is the Fury brass difficult to fireform?
Being a Wildcat, how are you figuring out pressure?

It shouldn't be difficult with a 308 win AI parent case. My 260 AI was just necking down and then jamming the bullet to fire form. The issue was the hybrid fury case damaging my chamber. Pressures are guesstimated by the primers, and by recoil lug set back in extreme instances.

I'll second the spent primer method of reading pressure.
As @xsn10s said, it was just a matter of necking up to 7mm and then fireforming just like I would normal 7-08 brass.
I am using Gordons Reloading tool to estimate pressures. I have created a case profile in that tool by using the reamer dimensions. I measured the case capacity using the DI water method. So far it hasn't led me down the wrong path.

Even if you don't want to use the steel fury brass. 7mm-277 fury all brass is more powder capacity than 7-08AI and is only a tiny size up, no fire forming.
I cannot see a reason for any of the 308AI cases when 277 fury(non-hybrid) exists.

That's pretty cool. I'm very impressed and will have to rethink my Creedmoor +Peak build and consider necking down Fury brass. What a wild time we live in! =)

I did my 7mm-08AI on a Stevens 200.
PT&G 7mm-08 IMP 40° reamer on the factory 22" sporter barrel. Freebore is listed as 0.06".
It's nice on the Savage as with the barrel nut you don't have to set the barrel back.
Best brass I've found for it is PRVI PARTIZAN (PPU).
My dies are old Pacific dies that I found at a firearms auction. Pacific was bought out years ago by Hornady.
Just make sure that when you close the bolt on a new piece of 7mm-08 brass that there is some resistance when you lock the bolt down.
There should be an interference fit at the shoulder/neck junction.
Having it this way means that you don't need or want to have the bullet seated out.
I mostly shot the 140gr class of bullet.
The 150 & 160gr will work, but make sure it's throated for it.
Otherwise the bullet gets pushed into the casing and takes up powder space.
Velocity increase (case volume) isn't that great, as others have said. But it does have the cool factor at band camp.
Velocity is going to depend on bullet weight and powder selection.

Fed 210M
140gr Berger VLD
RL17 was the speed demon at 2,916fps.
PP2000MR, IMR 4350, and H414(W760) all gave velocities about 2,832fps.
PP2000MR was the powder of choice with ES-6, SD-2.
140gr NBT COAL 2.895 for.020" off the lands.
140gr Berger VLD 2.898" for 0.005" off the lands.

At this time I'd use Alpha SRP brass and load hot with magnum primers.
I have a 7-SAW that I have two loads for, 145 Barnes LRX at 3000 and 162 ELDM at 2850 (so far, first loading) I have a Wyatt's internal setup in one stock and M5 in another using AICS mags so I can load to about 2.9 if I want, using non binder plate mags. It is a 26" varmint barrel so a little velocity comes from that. I'm about to install a lighter 3B barrel for hunting at 24". One of the factors that allow the SAW to achieve it's velocity is Alpha SRP brass due to the strength in the web area of the case, so Alpha 7-08 SRP brass would have a similar additional strength and the difference between AI and not is just whether you want it or not. My SAW measured approximately 54 grains of water twice fired vs 50 or so in the '08, . If you are buying dies anyway, you haven't lost a thing by going AI and if you plan on hunting, or shooting long range (800 plus) then 100 FPS or more with Alpha brass could have terminal value. Also if you get to a place where you're hunting and inadvertently leave your ammo at home you can still buy and shoot standard 7-08 with a little scope tweak. I like my 7 SAW but I would have likely done a 7-08 AI and Alpha SRP brass if I had know about the Alpha brass at the time. Partly from the 7-08 versatility of being used in an AI chamber. 7-08 AI has more dies available as well, I use Wilson in line seaters but was limited to Hornady Match dies from WTO for the SAW which was the only thing available at the time. Many say that the AI isn't worth it, but it's not their rifle or money and if that's what you want, there's no real downside so I encourage you to do what you really want.
I've got the Redding 7mm-08 "40 improved"die set if interested.

I already have a 7ss, otherwise I would be debating between either the SAW ll or .280ai. I mostly want a 7mm wildcat that I can still shoot factory ammo in a pinch and I figured the AI would make up some of the difference running in a 20" barrel vs a 24".

Why not just put a little less powder in the 7SS? You can also shoot factory 7 saum in it.
