Trying to help out a friend. Want to try to find him a good load
using this bullet, he just bought a new savage and wants to get it up
and running for the coming deer season. If you could please be specific
as far as all load details. Any input appreciated.

I'm shooting 69gr of H-1000 with the 162 Amax. You could probably go higher, but that's what shoots in my gun. I have had good luck with H-1000 in all my rifles, with one bullet or another.

I was hoping some of you guys were using H-1000 as down here some
mornings can be in the high 30s and later in the day get close to 70. As some
powders dont stay as stable as others. Usually we don't hunt during the hotter periods of the day but during the rut we like to stay out longer if we see a lot of movement early, they tend to have random movements when the ruts in full gear and their chasing hard.

Norma brass, CCI-250/Rem9.5, 65gr Reloder-22. This clocks around 2925 in my rifle with a 24" barrel. I seat about 0.02 off the lands.

The Norma cases have a slightly higher volume than the Federal I was using. If I used Federal cases (or probably Win), I would back off the charge and work up.
