Been kicking around going AI on my 7RM at some point. Haven't been able to find any info on them through searching. Tons of info obviously on the 280 AI vs 7RM but nothing about an. Imp 7 Rem Mag. Anybody here tried it or have any experience with it?

It's also know as a 7mm hart.
I've had a couple. They are extremely accurate but you don't gain much in the speed department. Maybe 50-75 fps.
I have reamer and dies I'd sell if your interested

Oooh okay. Now somethings are coming up. What kind of velocities were you getting? Not having to trim as much is a big bonus for me too.

Is there any particular reason you want to ai the 7 RM over maybe necking down a bigger case?

If it's to set the current barrel back and improve what you have, I'd say go for it. Why not?

If you're doing an entirely new barrel, I'd pick something else (7 SAUM or 7 PRC), that you can get a faster twist for and run heavier bullets in easier.

If you want raw velocity there's aways the 7 RUM, no 7RM improved or otherwise is going to catch a case with as much case capacity as the RUM.

I don't have a 7RM but I do have a 264 WM AI.

3350 with 156 Bergers in a 28" Proof barrel. Throated at 3.550" COAL.

I'm really torn between a 7mm RM or 300 WM. Especially after seeing 1-8" twist of remarms new 7mm RM. Now a 7mm RM AI thrown in the mix. Gonna make for some more sleepness nights lol.

Thats a new level of barrel burner and I want one!

To the OPs question about 7rm ai I don't have one but know a guy that does and he basically said it's accurate and he doesn't have to trim brass but I wasn't under the impression he got a bunch more velocity out of it. I'm a big fan of ai for lack of trimming alone at this point.

Honestly that would be it. My 7RM runs pretty decent as it is. 2950-ish with 180's. Slight improvement to performance and cut down on the need to trim. If I was lookng to get into that 3100+ range I'd probably
Just go with a 28N or 7-300 PRC.

This is my 7RM. 24" 1:8.4T runs 180 hybrids at 2950-ish with 4831SC.

I'm happy with the way it performs. Minimal recoil. Decent barre life.

Data for mine @ 900' DA. 7 mph Wind
