Does anyone have any current/good info on 7.62x39 bullets and loads that are subsonic but are capable of opening up somewhat in a hunting scenario.

I have 2 host options, but really am looking to shoot these from a 16" barrel with .310 bore.

I see Hornady has the new 255gr Sub-X bullets out, but can't find alot of info on them. What are you shooting?

Shots would be kept to under 200 yards. I am looking to employ these on a mountain lion hunt in May. I don't plan to shoot them at a lion, but if a coyote or fox comes into our setup I want to be able to use the subsonic rounds to deal with them.

I have lapua and other reloadable brass cases. I also have .308gr bullets and some .312 bullets for 303 British also. I know the use of 308 bullets gives mixed reviews on accuracy.
