7.62x39 deer loads.

I have a Ruger 77 compact rifle in 7.62x39 coming, the intention is a starter rifle for kids.

The likely target being small whitetail does, from 25-100 yards.

It looks like 2 loads offer the most possibilities. The factory Hornady 123 SST, and the Cor-Bon 150 grain. No intent to reload for this cartridge.

Velocities appear to be close (2300fps), and my inclination is always for more bullet weight, but I'd like to hear some experiences either way.
