has anybody used the 115 dtacs for deer. I did some testing out at 950 on some mild steel and was impressed (3050ft/sec), but what about in close at say 300 does it act like a fmj or what I never thought about shooting close until I left for home.

Thanks for the help

Brent

Shot a deer with the 115 Dtac about 3150 fps at 40 yards 243AI. No exit so I am assuming it doesnt act like a FMJ. I had the flu the day I shot that deer and didnt do the skinning but heard that damage was impressive. I would be more inclined to use that bullet for short range than long range. I would think that its thicker jacket may allow it to pencil through at lower velocities, but have absolutely no proof to back up that opinion.

have killed several deer and a antelope with 115 DTAC's from 200-350 yards--MV was 2725fps-1 Shot kills.
