Agreed! However, since he's in Montana, the altitude might (?) help in the SG.with the 9 twist you will most likely have to stay with a 130gr or possibly a 135 hybrid berger a 7.5 or 8 twist would have given him a much wider range in bullet weights

In my rifles (8 twist) I shoot either nosler ablr or eld m maybe I don't have to worry about twist so much, nothing like loading and seeing what happens!I wouldn't worry too much about the difference between 1-8 and 1-9. The 140s will be going pretty fast, I shoot 140 class bullets out of a 1-9 creed just fine. I wouldn't waste my time in a 6.5-300 with anything less than a 140 unless it was a Barnes lrx
