6.5x284 loads RL19,Norma MRP or IMR7977

I was given plenty of info on reloader 26, Retumbo and H1000 but have not been able to connect on any in SE Minnesota. I'm will be using 140 vld's and have 129gr long range accubonds. I have been using rl19 in my 7wsm with really good results. Anyone in the 6.5 using these combos? I have 2 rifles to play with 1-26" light contour 1-8" and 1-24" 1-8" with a Heavy contour. I'm open to other powders to try as well. It has just been tough to find much around at the stores.

Plenty of 4831 no 4831sc what velocity are you getting with rl23 and what is your barrel length. I'd like to be around 2950-3000 if possible with 140's

RL22 seems to be around ad pretty fast in the 6.5x284. Better with the 130s but you may get close to target velocity with 140s.

RL22 and 7977 gave some good groups. I finally got ahold of some retumbo and like that as well. I also tried RL25 and got some good results. Now work up the powders and see what I can get for velocity.

Looks like you have a few good options there.

H4831sc is very accurate in the Norma. VVn565 is also good if you can get it, I stay away from rl22 because of the huge temp swings where I hunt. Also tried h4350 and had good results, I was using rl26 but started to not like the results. I am on my 3rd barrel in my 6.5-284, each one was an experiment and ended up burning the barrels off messing and shooting about every bullet I could find.

I've done the same thing I finally settled on berger 140 hunting Vld and reloader 23 52.5 grains 2980 ft./s

I use 147s with r19 50.5gr with great results

I got low ES and SD with VV560. Much better speed with Superformance, but ES and SD were a bit higher. Gonna verify drops to 400 tomorrow and check grouping.
