6.5-47 lapua trouble

Using rl17 35.4 gr, berger vld 130, velocity was 2525 avg over 5 shots, repeated, haven't had luck with varget yet, seating depth is 2.8. Should I be closer to the lands? I have some more varget I can try if need be, I love this gun and have had great success at 100 but shooting at 1000 is though with such a low velocity, I see tons of posts of people hittin

g 2900+ with the 130 burgers, help!!!

RL17 could be too slow. Do you have a really short barrel?

In terms of getting your VLD bullets to shoot accurately, read this:

As for velocity, I have two friends that shoot 6.5x47s. Their load is 40 or 41 grains of H4350 and they get 2900+ out of their 26" barrels with 130grain bullets.

I'm using h4350 which is pretty close to r17 and I'm using 41 grains over a 140 amax. Bump up your powder charge.

Which by the way, I'm providing load data based completely on memory. I just know their load is 40+ grains of H4350 with 130 grain bullets.
