Does anyone have some experience with this wildcat? A 257 weatherby necked up to 6.5 I would think it would propel the 156 Berger along real well if throated properly. Anyone has some opinion?

Only shooting 140 Berger Hunter elite and don't need to check anything else. Have 156 eol but haven't tried because so happy with 140.
What kind of velocity and groups
68 Gr rel 26. 3250 fps sub .5 Moa.
Shooting 129 HH I think at 3500 fps with great groups too. If more interest

I seriously considered it but went with a 264WM "Ackley Improved" instead. Throated long for the 156 EOL I see 3170 to 3285 when fireforming using RL33 and N570 respectively. I haven't shot full power loads with the improved case yet.

I would call Allen over at McWhorter Rifles and see if he can give you some info.
Too late last night. Shooting 123 Absolute Hammer over 71.8 gr. Rel 26 at plus or minus 3500 fps. Mine was built by McWhorter.

same as the 264 win. mag , with 123gr =81.2grs of water and the 257 with 120gr = 81.2grs of water. custom dies for the 257, but you can use 257-270-7mm weatherby brass. use a fast twist 26+" barrel on either should work great.
