I recently purchased a 6.5-284 Norma with a 1-8 and was thinking of trying the 147 eldms. Nosler has a load with 4000 Mr for the 140 partition, has anyone tried any loads with the 147 Eld M's?

I do use that combo in a 6.5 CM and it shoots great with good velocity. RL23 is what I use in my 6.5x284 with the 143 eldx. I would bet that mr4000 and the 147's are going to shoot very well. Keeps us posted if you give it a try.

Okay the promised update. This is a 5round group at 100 with the 147eldm and 52.5 gr of 4000mr coal of 3.013 I wasn't shooting over a chronograph so I'm not sure on speed just yet.

No matter how much time, money, or effort you put into it, you're probably not going to improve on that much if any at all.

Be sure to save every bit of your data for this load.

If you want to keep trying to mess with it I'd probably do little or nothing more than to maybe tweak the seating depth a little to dee if it's going to tighten up any more but I sure would not do anything drastic from this point on.

I bought the rifle already built and I'm not sure who made it. Got a good deal on it and figured if nothing else I'd take the Argentine 1909 and build something on it if it didn't shoot. I'm pretty okay with it at the moment. It's going to be my wife's elk gun and she won't send a round past 300 anyway so I think I'll probably leave it alone from here.
