338lapua reloading

HI ALL , any body have any good loads for a 338lapua , I`m brand new to this caliper. Have been loading for 30 years and never loaded big calipers. I`m also new to this forum and can use lots of help. Thanks

Thanks i will try from a lower and build up. I use H1000 on my 7mmstw and it works pretty good too.I`m new with the 338 lapua , i recently got a 700xcr and plan on putting a zeiss 6.5 x20x50 on it . Thanks for the information, John

Forgive me for asking, but I don't understand how is this even possible. Berger shows max load of 85.2 gr. for H1000 and the 300 grain Berger Hybrid. You are loading 8% hotter. May I ask what is your barrel length? How far off the lands are you seating? Where did you start your ladder? Thanks in advance.

My load is 99 grains of rl-33 in Lapua brass, fed 215, 300 grain berger at 2832 fps from my savage 338 Lapua COAL of 3.820

This was the load given to me by McMillan so I could reload 200 rounds for the shooting class that I attended in Phoenix in April last year. The rifle is a McMillan 338 Lapua EOL LRH (Extreme Outer Limits Long Range Hunter} the barrel was cut to accept Berger 300 Gr VLD bullets and it shoots fantastic. I never ran a ladder test since it shot so good. Hope that helps.

We are saying that you need 160 rounds for the class.
