338 Win Mag Load Work

Worked up a solid load for my Dad's vintage 338 Win Mag. Installed 24" Proof Barrel, Hogue stock, new bottom metal (was a blind mag) & Area 419 self timing brake. This rifle started as a Winchester M70 "WalMart Special" purchased back in 1989 for $400.

Targeted load was something mild - but still with some a** behind it. 223 gr hammer hunter's @ 2701 fps with ES 12/SD 6. Produced a respectable .39" group.

No doubt about it, that will do the job as long as the one squeezing the trigger does theirs

I still have my old Wbee 338WinMag, and after all these years, it is still "one of" my best accurate larger bore factory rifles using 225's and RL19.
