338 rum

Had one that shot 210's really good with 22. Neither powder you mentioned did stellar results in both my rifles. Better luck with 7828 , h1000 for 225's and retumbo for 250's . Good luck

If you were going to develope a load and had Reloder22 and 25 which do you think would be the better choice to use
As with anything else, YMMV. Depending on bullet brand, type, and weight, you must use powder X to maximize the potential of what you are trying to load. For instance ...

Of the two…..RL 25! I use RL 22 in my wife's .338 WM, with much less case capacity than your RUM….though it is a compressed load! memtb

I started shooting the 338 rum when it first came out along a 338 edge.. reloader 25 and 225 Accubond is an insane combo..
But.... found out really early it was terrible for temp swings and switched to H1000 and never looked back.. form 225 accubond to 300 OTM's i won't use another powder!

The information shared by FEENIX appears to be pretty tame to me! I'm guess'n that the "adventurous" handloader can get a bit more out of that cartridge!

I thought about trying to modify my wife's Model 70 to the .338 RUM….but, she's not very adventurous and I probably wouldn't gain enough to fully justify the job! memtb

Before R26 came along I used R25 and 225g TTSX. Fast, accurate, and devastating!

How far you plannin on shootin?

What bullet you got on your mind?

Not really sure, it's not for myself but a friend that is tired of trying to find factory ammo and doesn't like the price when he does, he reached out to me to see if I knew of anywhere that had RL22 , I told him I have almost 5 pounds. He's not really sure of his bullet choice, thinking Accubonds but most likely it'll come down to what's available. I think he'd like to stick to 225 grain for his bullet weight. I looked in my manuals to see what other powders were listed and the only two I had was 22 & 25

For a short range lazer, 180 accubonds with rl22 will make 3650fps. With the 225s, stick with rl25
