338 edge

Hi there simple question I'm building a 338edge , is the standard twist rate of 1in10 good for the 300grain projectile range?
Yes, Berger recommends 1:10" or faster; I went with 1:8" on my latest .33 cal build.

If you plan on all copper bullets, check out the recommendations at Hammer Bullets. Their 285 grain Hunter requires a 1:9" twist. The bullet is 2" long. 10 inch twists work for lighter bullets. I believe that similar restraints occur with CuttingEdgeBullets.

Uh. What exactly is the moa cant you have there Rum man?
Well they way that one was set up is has almost 325 min. Of Elevation !

55 moa Nightforce base, 200 min. Valdada adj.base and the Razor with 125 min .

It would have been in the low 4000 yard range totally turned up !
Now I'm pushing the 300 gr . berger alot faster . I'm positive that would help for distance / Wind .
Just ran my old numbers in Shooter , my max would be 4264 yards !
Things are different now with my load .

If I was building another, it would have a 9" twist as mine did. You can go 8" twist, but don't think it's necessary.
I don't know what you want to do with it, but don't expect a great jump in velocity over the 338RUM.

Cheers.
