338 edge cases

Hi all started necking up some rem 300 ultra brass to 338 for my new edge, and most of them once necked up are under the 300 ultras trim to lengh size of 2.840 . Some of these cases were 2.847 or so before being necked up is this the norm ive never necked up cases before . what is the minimum lengh they can be, any advice greatly appreaciated. ps these cases were once fired in my 300 ultra.

Don't worry about the length. Shoot them once in your Edge, then trim them all just to square them up. The absolute length doesn't really matter, as long as they aren't longer than your chamber.
