338 Edge build(savage)

Ok so i want to build myself a 338 edge and I plan on using a savage action. I have heard so many rumors about how unsafe they are to build on a small shank savage action. What savage action do you guys recommend. I want to be safe too I need my face and fingers. Thanks in advance.

Savage offers 338LM in the 110BA and 111 LRH.

The 110BA is definitely beefed up. But, I don't know if the 111LRH in 338LM is the same as other 111's.

To be on the safe side, either of those rifles would do the job if you bought one and rebarrelled.

If you just want to pick up a used action cheap and build it up, then you might want to get more input.
