So my current load out of ruger M77 300 WM is 79gr H1000 with a 180gr accubond in a Winchester case with a rem 9 1/2 magnum primer loaded to 3.460". I shoot this out of a 24" 1-10 barrel. It shoots about 3/4 MOA consistently at 200 yards.

My question is what does everybody think of this load for shooting out to say 800 yards? I'd like to shrink the groups but this is largely a factory rifle except the stock. I upgraded to better glass recently so that may shrink groups a little.

I was thinking of trying the ELD X 200gr. With 4831 or H1000. Might try some better brass too.

If you want to try a different bullet, H1000 and 215 Hybids are a great combination for the 300 WM. Mine is also 24" and I get 2820 fps with 76 grains.

Hopefully someone will link the thread from Broz , it was a great resource for me .

Ya. My current loads loaded to 3.460" are limited to one in the chamber and one in the mag. Any more than one in the mag and it won't feed due to jamming.

After the first shot all the rest are just noise anyhow. :D

On another note do you all think I could load 212 eld's or 215 hybrids to the same length without intruding on powder capacity. I would think that these long bullets might make my rifle a single shot and while I rarely have used that second round I like knowing it's there.

I've found the "Broz" load of H1000 and the 215 Berger quite forgiving regarding seating depth. Also found Nosler brass very helpful. Info on this load on the search upper right, thread is, "Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid". Good luck

I have loaded the 210 accubond with 76.5 gr h-1000 at 3.40 to feed in a Ruger and it shoots 2800 FPS at the muzzle and 3/4 MOA out to about 800 yds. There is a slight crunch when seating but it works fine.

I was able to load the 215 in my Ruger M77 to 73.5 gr H1000. 3.332" oal. 2686 FPS. About a MOA. Not super impressed but would work for a far as the lighter rifle would allow me to feel comfortable.

Fits in the mag and works as a repeater.

I can't seem to find any load data using a 200 grain ELD X and H1000 powder. Does anyone have any experience with this powder/bullet combo?

From page 581 of Hornady's 10th edition book...
