anyone have any good accurate loads for a 300rum using 210 g Bergers ? I have been using 95.0 g Retumbo but can't seem to get that great of groups anymore and am getting loose primer pockets now. Anyone use Ramshot-Magnum, or H1000 ?

95 grs seems a little warm my load is 91.5 grs of retumbo Nosler brass and CCI 250 primers with 3 shot groups in the .3's haven't Chronographed it yet but going by my drop chart its around 3150 fps.

I am now using the 215 Hybrids but before that I used the 210VLD out of my 27" Rum with great success. My load with NC brass was 89.5 grains of H1000, Fed215GM primers and touching the rifling. Can't remember a COAL at the moment. With Rem brass the powder charge would be 91-91.5 grains of H1000 for the same velocity. Velocity was 3,120fps with ES inside 15fps. These would shoot .5 MOA beyond 300 yards.

+1 91.5 retumbo is workin good for me and while I havent finished with my drops yet it was holdin 1/2 moa out to 1175.:)

Remington 700sps
Remington brass
Remington 9 1/2 M mag primers
89.6g retumbo
At about 1" @ 100.
Have not tried any other loads but may have to work up a bit.
Max load according to Berger is 92g @ 2913.
I am getting 2950 @ 6700 feet above sea level.

Southern precision rifle
26" rock creek tube
Remmy brass
CCI mag primer
90gr retumbo
.030 off lands
210berger
sub moa at 100yds

So I have a question. What is the best way to work up a load? I started at 89.6g (3/4 of max load according to Berger) and have not played with it since. I am getting just over 1" at 100 but not consistent. I cannot seat the bullets out any further due to the Remington magazine well.
I did some work to a Ruger m77 so I could fit a full size bullet in the magazine but have not wanted to do this to my Remmy yet.
I guess what I am asking is what is the best powder increment up or down to find what your gun likes. Also, how many bullets should a guy load with each different powder charge? Should you clean your gun after each group so you start with a clean barrel each time?
This gun only has a sporter barrel that they say is only good for about 1000 rnds. I don't want to burn the barrel out just working up a load. :D

what I'm seeing here is lots of you guys are loading down to 300win mag performance. I hope I don't have to do this to get my accuracy back. My 300win shoots ragged 1 hole 5 shot groups at 100 yards with 200g Nosler AccuBond @ 2980 fps (chronyed). I was hoping for a little more out of my UM.

That seems a little hot.

What Im running:

Remington 700 Sendero 26" Tube

Federal 215 Primers
Remington Brass
92 Grains of Retumbo
210 Berger loaded .020 off lands (single shot)

Velocity 3080 FPS.

95 grains is HOT!!!!!! I had a RUM that really shot and the hotter I got it the better it shot it was a hart custom and had a 30" barrel. I can tell you @ 94 grains it shot it's best and was pushing that 210 berger 3308fps. (BUT AFTER ONE FIRING THE CASE WOULDN'T HOLD A PRIMER) sounds to me like maybe your gun doesn't like Retumbo, try H1000 or RL 25.
