Good day gentlemen. Starting a new project and looking so some powder and load recommendations for 300 WSM with 180 gr bullets. In a long action so can stretch out the COL. Thank you.

L, had the best accuracy by far with H4350 and the Berger 185 VLD, Fed 215M primer after trying several other powders. This was in a 26" barrel Savage. Start low and work up.

Extensive reading on the subject led me to try H4350 and RL17 because those were the powders I kept hearing come up. I am new to the .300WSM and am still working up a load.

I have Loaded for the 300 WSM since about 2004 when I had to get Loading Data from IMR, Hornady and Speer off the Internet. I had IMR 4350, IMR 4831 and H4831 in stock. I could not get enough of the either 4831 in the case for good velocity. I had success with IMR 4350. LOAD, Win. Brass, IMR 4350, Win. LR Mag Primer and I80 Gr Sierra Bullet. Worked load up to Speer data max of 65.0 Gr. (Sixty Five) Gr. Got near 3100 Vel. and 9/16 groups. This barrel always shoots all loads faster than listed velocity. Worked up to the same load with 180 gr. Hornady and 180 Nosler Part. The Nosler 180 Gr. does not shoot as tight as the Sierra 180. The Nosler 180 has collected 2 Bull caribou and 1 Bull Elk.

I've loaded for the 300 WSM for years and have a few favorite combos that work very well. My current favorites in my 26" barreled WSM are the 200 Accubond with 62.8 grains of RL17, primed with Fed 210M in a Norma case. This load is good for 3000 fps. I can also substitute 67.0 grains of 7828ssc in this load for 2920 fps. Both are 1/2 MOA or better at 300 yards.

My next favorite is a 210 Berger HVLD, CCI 250, 66 grains of 7828ssc, Norma case at 2870 fps.

For Hodgdon, I've had the best success with H4350 for the 180s and H4831sc for anything above 180s. I don't use the Hodgdons as much in the WSM because I get better performance with RL17 and 7828ssc without sacrificing accuracy. Temp sensitivity has not been an issue with this cartridge.

I have recently worked up loads for my Sako 75 300 WSM mainly for 180 gr Nosler Accubonds. All were with Winchester Brass and Winchester LRM primers. Sub moa with Hybrid 100 V 65.5 gr at 2.860 OAL and RL 19 68.5gr at 2.860 OAL. I got moa results with RL 17 65.0 gr and IMR 4350 64.0 gr both with 2.860 OAL.
I also tried 180 gr Barnes TTSX and grouped just under moa with RL 17 63.0 gr and RL 19 68.5 gr both at 2.900 OAL
Good luck trying to find any RL 19 in stock anywhere. I don't have a chronograph yet but they are hotter loads than the Winchester Supreme 180gr Accubond factory ammo that I used to zero my rifle at 200 yards. Factory specs state 3010 fps, so I'm assuming it's a little faster than that since my reloads were all high at 200 yards when compared to the factory ammo
