I'm running low on H4831 sc and looking to try some Berger 210 vld and 190 vld in my 300 win mag Sendero. Eventually one of these rounds will be my go to Wyoming rounds. So I was contemplating trying H1000 or the new IMR 7977 enduron. Has anyone used these powders while loading Berger vld's? Is there a difference powder I should consider?

Thanks

H1000 will shine in the 210-215 range. I would strongly recommend the 215 Berger over your listed choices.

^This, the 210's are not bad, but the 215's are awesome. Perhaps if you try the 215's and see the results, you could sell the other bullets or use them in another rifle.. The H1000 shoots very well in the two 300WM Rem 700's I've loaded for. Per Hodgdon/IMR burn rate chart the Enduron 7977 is almost identical to H1000. I've read those who used the 7977 say to start a grain or two less with it. Good luck in Wyo and get in shape.

Going to the store today I'll see if they have some 215

YMMV but H4831SC is my go to powder for all my .300 WMs. My accuracy load for the 190 Berger VLD is 3043 FPS using WW brass, CC250, 75.5 H4831SC, .020" off the lands - harvested a MT bull elk with it 931 yards in 2013.

Good luck!

H4831sc is my go to for my 168gr Barnes load. It's tough to beat H1000 for the 200+great bullets. It just seems to be a great combination for most.

Guys

If you don't know this information already,
be aware that the 300 Win Mag case BRAND NAMES,
has NUMEROUS internal case capacity's,
that range from 95.5 grs to 87.5 grs, H2o capacity's,
which is an 8.0 gr difference.

Be sure to not MIX the different brand name of brass,
when reloading this case, as you can get into big trouble,
keep them sorted to a specific brand name,
to be safe etc.

Tia,
Don

H1000 will also work for your 190's I have had nothing but good luck with it. It ran 3100fps over my magnetto speed with 79 grains winchester brass and 215m primer you will just have to try it, I've had good luck starting .020 of the lands in each gun I've tried it in and only had to adjust one. Good luck!

You can't go wrong with H1000 and a 215 Berger. As recommended if you can get some 215's shoot them and see how they work. Every 300 Win Mag we've tried shot the 215 very good. Then you can always sell your other bullets.

No Berger 215 @ recobs. I'll check Scheels when I get a chance this week.

I've been wondering where to start on a powder charge with H1000. And how far off the lands. Might have to give it a whirl. Thanks
