300 Win Mag ELD-X load testing?

My buddy has the 200 grainers shooting 0.5 MOA out of his 300 WSM and I"ve got the 212 grainers doing the same out of my 300 RUM. Another friend will be developing loads for his 300 Win Mag but he hasn't done it yet. Bottom line - they shoot good and, oh yeah, the tips don't melt half way to the target!

Can you also provide the RUM load data with velocity?
Thank you

I have a 300 RUM load for the 210 Bergers with RL-33 that averages 3,040 fps. However with the 212 ELD-X I switched to H1000 because I wanted better temp stability and a little lower velocity as I didn't want the bullet coming apart if I happen to be up close. I ended up with 86.0 gr of H1000 which averaged 2903 fps from a 26" varmit contour Savage barrel. With that velocity at the muzzle, the bullet slows to min expansion velocity of 1,600 fps at 1,070 yards which is plenty good for me. And this load put 3 into 0.688" at 200 yards which is about what it does with the Bergers. That is pretty good for a monster case like the 300 RUM. Unlike the Bergers which I stick right on the lands, I loaded the 212 ELD-Xs 0.020" off. Hope it works for you.

Tagging in ... i'm about to load up the 212 in a 300wm and the 200 in a wsm for two of my hunting buddies. Any info on those combos is going to be much appreciated!

I finally tried out my 200gr load for the 300 WSM today using 62.8 gr of RL17. I tried 3 OAL's of 2.86, 2.88 & 2.90. All Nosler brass with WLRM primers. I use this exact same load in the 200gr Accubond with a 2.90 OAL at 2909 fps and 0.694" moa
All three OAL's shot just under 1 moa (0799-0.93") with the 2.90 OAL being the best.
Ironically, Hornady has published load data for many of the 30 cals eld-x and the 300 WSM is 62.8gr of RL17 at 2950fps and a 2.855 OAL.

Just FYI
My 300 WSM is a Sako 75 with a 24 3/8" barrel and 1:11 twist

As soon as I get my reloading gear back from the folks I will be loading up some 212'a for my 300 wm. Starting from scratch as I have not reloaded in years so will be interested to see what powders work the best. I'm likely going with H1000 as I am also going to try the berger out as well.

Any one try the 212s in a 300 win mag with H1000, if so where did you start was thinking about 75 grain

I started work on a custom 300 win mag when I heard about the new Eld-x bullets. The rifle is now finished and I'll be doing load development with the 220gr bullets soon. I'd like to shoot the 212gr but I can't find any. I'll post the results when I get to shoot it.

I have my 300 RUM shooting the 212 ELD X well! 94 Grains Retumbo sub .5 and 3175 fps!gun)
