300 RUM pet recipes

H1000 or Retumbo with 230 or 215 Bergers. Mine liked the 215 Berger with Retumbo .354 three shot group at 200yds. Most of the time, no two rifles will like the same load. Bullet and powder combos take some time and money to arrive at that pet recipe. For you to try what shoots well in someone else's rifle and have a winner is hit and miss. Start lower in charge with published manual spec and work up. This forum has several procedures in the search section for working up loads. You can e-mail Berger for info also. Good luck

88.5 grains of Retumbo with a 212 ELD-X loaded to .095" off the lands with a 215M in Norma brass.

This load is good for just shy of 3100 FPS and consistent .3 MOA in my custom 28" Krieger.

In my 27" Krieger barrel 0.098" freebore, I'm loading 92.0 Retumbo, F215 GMM, R-P 7rum necked up, Berger 210 VLDH, 2.079" CBTO. 3150 FPS.

Safe in my gun, start low and work up.

We have loaded 3 RUM's.
First is 8" twist 30" barrel built on the 700 long action
F215M primer
93.0 grains of RE-33
227 Hammer Hunter
3120 FPS

Second is similar except 10" twist 28" barrel
F215M primer
102 grains of RE-33
181 Hammer Hunter
3400 FPS

Third is a factory Remington Sendero
WLRM primer
97 grains of Winchester Supreme 780
181 Hammer Hunter
3520 FPS

AS ALWAYS - Start low and work up. All rifles are different in what recipe they like....

All these rifles shoot less than MOA easily.
