What brand DBM are you guys running?
My bro n law is having trouble finding something that feeds properly in his McMillan A5, R700 custom. Also, do you use a different type of mag than bottom metal. I know he is not the only one with the set up. Help!

Hey killer, I just finished a custom 300 Rum and I went with the Wyatts XL bottom metal, I purchased it off of stockys stocks. It feeds really smooth, the only thing is the bolt stop will have to be machined so that the bolt cycles back far enough to grab the cartridge from the mag. It was also the longest oal mag I could find because I was anticipating using VLD's but now that I got it back from the smith I chose to shoot the Berger 230 tactical hybrids so they fit really nicely in the mag, not too long at all.

Yeah the vld's are a little difficult to accommodate thats actually why decided to give the 230s a try and actually so far they're proving to be pretty wicked, I haven't tried them for hunting yet but I will be soon on the Oryx.

Using a stock floorplate on my lh 700 bdl in 300 rum here and going to about 3.67" without mods. The origin is at 3.8", so there is only .130' run at mag length. Works fine with hornady offerings. I use the 180(sp), 190(spbt), and 225(hpbt) hornady bullets in mine.
