So got my RUM together and shot it a bit with nosler 210 factory loads. It shoots well but keep seeing old posts about 215 Berger's. So I picked up a box and manual. Unfortunately there is no load info for 215 300 rum. Was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some load info? Powder, charge, and primers. My rifle is 700 with bartlien 28" barrel 1-10. Plan to try and load to length of my AIC mag 3.7 something. Thanks

I shot the 215 out of my RUM. Worked great with H1000 and Federal GM215M primers. I will say I was above the max load posted above. Factory Sendero barrel that seemed slow. Ran them at 2985 fps. My custom 300 Win Mag drives them at 3000 fps. Try them 30 or 40 thou off and see how they shoot. Seems to be a sweet spot in a few guns that run the 215.

I have a 23 3/4" 300 win take off barrel I setback and rechambered to 300 RUM. Was running 230s in it. Tried some 215s:

215 berger with H1000 88 grs was best for 2879 fps. Performance is a wash in this short handy 8 1/2 lb rifle, when compared to 230s. Went back to 230s as they have more energy. You should get more velocity with a longer barrel.

Interesting that Berger is only getting 2845 fps with their 26" barrel and 86.5 grs......they tend to be conservative plus they are using the OAL of 3.6" (who does that? <grin>)

I run h1000 and the 215's at 2960. Super long OAL. I have to single feed at 3.850 in a rem 700 police. Fed 215m primers. Load is above what berger shows in thier chart but the longer oal helps with that. Mine is extremely accurate with them

Shooting a 26" Krieger with Vias brake, Remington 700 custom, using 210 Berger hunting vld's and 91.0 Retumbo goes 3050 fps. Jewell trigger ( flat out AWESOME) . With a 215 the Berger load data looks like it will get you where you need to be.....Can't beat a RUM and Bergers...rsbhunter

Y'all might want to try rl-33. I know it's not as temperature stable, but it's flat out awesome in the 300 rum. I'm ruNing the 230 Berger's at 3050 and can push it to 3150 or so with a max load. I haven't tried the 215s though.

I along with several friends shoot 215's in a RUM. They compliment each other well. We all use H-1000 and Federal 215's with Nosler brass.
Usually find best accuracy from .015- .030 off the lands. Velocity is generally 3125-3150.
U can run them a little faster but at the expense of the primer pockets giving up on the Nosler Brass

I'm seriously considering adding these projectiles to my "to do list" in 300 win mag load development, so I find this thread interesting. Nobody seems to ever have one bad thing to say about these 215 hybrids. It seems like the 210's aren't so impressive and the 230's aren't for everyone but these 215's are the bullet to beat. For all of you using them here, are the hybrid bullets notably less sensitive to seating depth than the other berger bullets (as they claim they are)?
