30 MOA scope base

I'm using a 30moa one piece scope base on my 300 RUM and have my zero set at 600 yds, but that is with my scope dialed almost all the way down.

I am using a Burris Black Diamond 8x32-50 with 1/8 turrets.

If you use a 30moa base, what is your zero set at? I am wondering is I need to back down to a 20moa because I will probably not get the opportunity to shoot much past 1000yds, and I would prefer to have my elevation adjustment some where in the middle.

What do y'all think?

When using 25-30 moa bases, keep in mind with some scopes as you near the end of the elevation adjustment to obtain a 100yd zero it sometimes limits the windage adjustment as well
