Has anybody done a comparison of the two?
It seems like Hornady is putting out some impressive bullets.
I punched in some numbers in my ballistic calculator, and Hornady is coming out on top.

I just want some real world data not just calculations, before i go thru the process of Hex coating the 285s and work up some loads.

I must say, Hornady is killin it in the Match bullet game...

Plus I found a company that sells the Hornadys for 53$ per 100. That definetly helps my wallet..

I have a few friends who shot them this year and liked them so far. Hornady is releasing a lot of bullets but none are being shot in serious accuracy orentated matches, have never seen a tipped bullet or Hornady shot in a BR match so it may be hard to say that are at the top level yet.

That's kinda what I think about when considering them.
I got some pretty impressive groups when I was breaking my barrel. But switch to hybrids when they came in.
I guess I'm going to coat 50 of them and see what I can do...

I've launched a few 285 ELDMs from my 28" Edge loaded with RL33. I'm pushing them at 3010 fps right now at .015" off. I still have to do some seating depth tuning, but I'm confident this combination will perform.

That's what I'm talkin bout!!!!
Running them at 3000 fps, is really impressive.... I'm not sure if I can get them to 3000 fps in a 26" barrel or not... I'm going to Hex coat them and try..

I am running 285 ELD M's at 2996 and it is a mild load. Bullets have been HBN coated as well.

Accuracy is awesome and I used this bullet exclusive this year hunting. 3 whitetail, 1 Antelope and 1 Elk. All 1 shot kills as well.

I never hit bone on Elk and entry wound was caliber size and exit was about 1" but it went straight down.

I've been running the ELD-M in my 338 Edge also and a mild load at 2980fps. I have only shot a whitetail doe at 570 and it definitely did the job!!! I've shot a few other whitetail with the 285 A max and a 338 Ultra and was very pleased with one being at 980 yards. I've been considering trying some HBN on them and work up since I know I still have quite a bit of room to go. I'll probably wait until I get my hands on some N570 to try though. Where have you found these bullets so cheap?

I just loaded some to .010" off.
Do you think they will like more jump than you are doing, or less?

.010" is a good place to start. I started at .015" and it shot right at .5 MOA. I will try .010" and .020" to see if it tightens to .2s and .3s.
