Does anyone know anything about the .284 WRP caliber that host John Burns uses on the show "The best of the West?" I can't find any info on it anywhere. He makes shots up to and including 1000 yds. with it.

The cartridge is called the .284 WRP and is VERY similar to the commercial 7mm STW. The only difference is in the throat geometry. I change the length of freebore and leade angle to make it shoot better. 7mm STW factory throats are not the best design for good accuracy.

I have still not found any info on what the WRP stands for but should have an answer here shortly.

WRP stands for Wind River Precision.
