270 wsm please help

I recently purchased my son a 270 wsm. Was needing some advice on bullet selection was looking at the 140 federal trophy bonded bearclaws. Most of our shots will be within 200 yards. Thanks for you'r time and happy hunting.

Most of us roll our own. I prefer a 140 Accubond over RL-19, at about 3100ish, which have taken multiple Deer, Black Bear, & a few Elk.

However, years ago, I used Federal Fusion 150's, & their performance on game was absolutely superb on Deer, & Black Bear. Never got a chance to try them on Elk, but I wouldn't have hesitated.
