270 Shooters still exist????

What are you trying to ask about a 50 yard 170 EOL shot? Will it pencil through or will it grenade?

I hit my 6x6 Bull Elk last year at about 238 yards. My 170 Berger travels 3225 fps at the muzzle (270 Wby).

The bull dropped were he stood. Liquified the chest cavity with some shot damaged meat on the opposing side. Copper cup was found on the opposing side of the Elk underneath the pelt.

I like the 270 Winchester it is classic and effective. I posted a thread in the deer hunting section of a deer I shot on the last day of the season with a 270 at 475 yards. As can be seen the 270 is an emphatic killer.

I have been hunting with a 270 for over 20 years. I have used an HS Precision take down in 270 for all my big game needs since 2000. Anything I have ever shot at only required 1 shot to date. Longest shot was a little over 600 yards approximately 9 years ago. That was a very long shot for me .
