Has anyone tested the accuracy of the .270 150 LR Accubonds yet? I'm launching the 150 Berger VLD Hunting projectiles at around 3300 fps and my best groups are 4 shots at 0.6" at 100 yards with them just touching the lands. With the 140 Accubonds, I was launching them at around 3400 fps and getting five shot groups around 0.7" for my best groups at 0.030" from the lands. Even though the claimed BC of the 150 LR Accubond is a fair bit higher than the 150g Berger VLD Hunting, I would probably only switch to the 150 Accubonds if I thought they would group as tight.

well I just did some testing at 300 with 168 bergers and 168lr accubonds through a 280 AI.. my rifle shoots the bergers at 2822fps and puts a .8 inch group at 300.. I did the same load with the accubonds.. shot 5 shots.. group was about the same.. only real difference was they shot .56 inches lower.. they have some very good results soon far.. going to test them at 400-650 tomorrow see what's up

The nosler works very well in my rifle. COL is per book, load is 60.7 grains H1000, 3000 FPS. Gives me 0.5 MOA at 200 yards

OP,

What cartridge is getting those velocities?

Kasey,
When you got the 0.56" lower impact @ 300 was your sight-in Zero POI the same with both bullets?

In both barrels all Nosler offerings Shot exceptionally well in my way over bore 270.

In the aged first barrel Bergers were on the verge of coming apart. That is, could not group w/any load.

The new barrel shoots Bergers and the Noslers pretty darn identical with the edge, though very slight (< 0.1 MOA) going to Nosler

Due to bc and energyAnd accuracy I Shoot 169.5s.

However, IF I can get the same levels of velocity and accuracy with the 150 ABLR as I get with 150 Ballistic Tip, it's gonna be the Nosler ABLR all the way!

The hard spot is finding some,

Kasey-

What powder are you running and at what distance to the lands did you set the 168ABLR?

Thanks.

MM

The load I'm using is 79.5 grains AR2214 which has now been replaced by Retumbo with the 150 Bergers and 73 grains H4831sc with the 140 Accubonds. The cartridge is 270 Dakota which holds 4 more grains than 270 Weatherby. Barrel is 27 1/2 inches.

I just picked up a box of the 150 ABLR. I'be been shooting the 150 Berger's for a while now in my 270 WSM at about 3140fps with 68.5gr of retumbo out of a 27" Lilja. Extremely lethal and accurate but I'm excited to try accubonds. I'll be real surprised if the BC is even close to what's on the box. We'll see.....

How long is that barrel and roughly how thick at the muzzle? So you think the .625 bc might be close to their real bc?

Hello all, my first post here.

I am using my 270 win. With the 150 Accubond LR, 56.0gr of IMR 7828 WLR primers Winchester brass out of my Model 70 22" barrel (my trusted hunting rifle) and get consistent 1/2"-5/8" 3 shot groups @ 100yds. Hitting gongs at 200 and 550 yds until it got boring.

What's the rate of twist in your winchester barrel. I have heard they might not stabilize in 1-10 barrels
